LoL - League of Legends

League of Legends (LoL)
Hello fellow Hubbers! I'm back for another down to earth hub about a game that deserves mention. Recently I have found myself back to playing League of Legends... and it's not because it has one of the coolest acronyms either! Many of you might remember DotA (Defense of the Ancients) on WC III (Warcraft), the most popular Use Map Settings (UMS) games to have ever been created by a player. That game was epic, it was a 5 on 5 bloodbath, minus the blood, where two teams fight from corner to corner trying to destroy the other teams' nexus. Sorry for all the parenthesis, there might be newb(ie) Gamers reading it and would appreciate the "Full scoop" in regard to terminilogy. Anyways, LoL is a game in and of itself, literally a mirror of it's predecessor. LoL has become freakishly popular in it's ascent to the top.
The staff has done an incredible job keeping the game fresh and cool, with their paramount success they have been able to hire on the best of the best of 3d model designers, code monkeys, and graphic artists. Every two weeks they release a new character with an all new kit (combination of moves and abilities). For example, one of my all time favorite characters Udyr, shown in the picture above has a very unique kit. Unlike most champions who at level 6 receive their Ultimate skill on a long cooldown (CD) Udyr has four stances that all can be unlocked at level 1. His four stances are Tiger, Turtle, Bear, and Phoenix. Tiger gives an attack speed bonus and a damage over time to it's initial hit, turtle give him a life and mana back effect at the cost of being able to get critical attacks and a shield that absorbs damage, in bear you get a sprint boost and a stun attack, while phoenix give you an AoE (area of effect) and every third attack shoots out a cone of fire in front of you. Depending on how you weave your skills you can either be devastating or just annoying.
I cannot give you a count of how many champions there are, by the time you read this post they will have released a new one by then, haha. I encourage you to checkout the game because it's a whole lot of fun, not to mention that they priced it just right... It's FREE! There are some features that you can pay cash for but as a free player you get 100% of the game play for free, while the payable content either makes the leveling process quicker or you can get some cool skins. If you want to watch people playing the game you should check out players who Livestream their gameplay on www.own3d.tv. If you want to watch me play, my stream can be seen at http://www.own3d.tv/live/221918/Cheeeers_
If you want to hop on the bandwagon and watch someone on the front page of the streaming site you will see the best in action but their attitude can get tiring, however, sometimes it's like watching a drama on tv. It will take some practice to get the hang of the game but they will put you with people of your similar experience level to keep the game experience fun and lively. You can sign up now at http://na.leagueoflegends.com/ and get started playing for free.
Here are some hints for beginners:
1. Last-Hit: When an enemy minion has only a sliver a health you want to hit it so you get the killing hit to get money.
2. Pushing: Pushing the minion wave towards the enemy base in order to kill towers.
3. Ganking: Keep a constant vigil of the map to be aware of the enemies movements, there is nothing worse than minding your own business to be jumped by half the enemy team.
4. Don't tank the minions: Taking damage from minions adds up quickly so back up and let them pick a new target.
5. Buy items to sustain yourself in lane longer, health/mana regen, potions, life steal, more health, etc.
For help with character guides and more in depth explanation of character gameplay the site I use is www.mobafire.com, it is a helpful website to give you a good idea of how a character is meant to be played.
Thanks for your attention fellow HUbbers, game on and good luck! Feel free to message me and add me on League of Legends. My summoner name is " gks " it will be cool to see if anyone was inspired to give it a shot. Feel free to message me with any questions and maybe we can get in a game.

I'd love to give the game a shot and I wouldn't mind having a match with you. An excellent guide on a successful game, and I hope many find it as useful as I have ^^
